You Wanna Know What Grinds My Grist?: Cherubplay Edition - PunkrockVIP - 04-25-2015 11:10 AM

Original thread not mine, but I like the title and it certainly fits in this situation.

Som, the story goes that I write a little prompt thing, hoping somebody connects, I am so pumped up for this. We exchange some ideas to advance it, and I write up a 3 decent-sized paragraph starter, and they reply. Their reply matches the length of mine more or less, and then I go up to respond to that with some more of my own.

I go to some other chats I'm involved with and see one unread message from that one. I am confident in this continuing strong, as it is only the beginning.

"- has ended that chat"

And boom! One shot and I lose that confidence, right out my window it went.

Please ask me next time before you use the title!

But I agree, that must be annoying.

Or better yet, talking out an idea with someone on not-a-prompt, getting excited about what your rp is gonna be, and then when they actually write a starter it's...

Four lines long and hard to read.

When you think you're doing fine in a RP and you're suddenly cut off by your partner, who ends the chat.

Or, or even better yet. You don't get a response from them for months and then you try to talk to them again and they end the chat on you. That totally isn't going to be interpreted as rude, not ever! ahahaha

And people can be so rude!! I was asking someone what they wanted in the rp, and I think they got frustrated or something, but as far as I can tell, I didn't do anything wrong, and they disconnected with "fuck it fuck this prompt fuck everything fuck I'm so fucking angry"! Like, the least they could do is tell me WHY they were so pissed, and maybe like... not be a jerk. I dunno.

That feel when you write a longer response to the five-paragraph starter and they diss you immediately. I find it incredible considering they asked for long posts.

when a partner says they'll respond in the morning and THE MORNING NEVER COMES

Out of the three RPs I've initiated so far (one my own prompt, two me responding to another's prompt) the rp barely gets started and then they don't even end the chat. They just drop out for like ages and never reply to me
*flips table*

How about when you find an amazing prompt you really would love to answer and then you're going to click it when BAM- the little "poster either got answered or left, whatever" pop-up shows up onscreen.
